Appointments

Types of Appointments Offered

Appointments can be scheduled for different lengths of time for new or existing patients, for evaluation, therapy or initial treatment, or medical management.

Initial pediatric evaluations are scheduled for 1 or 1.5 hours and initial adult evaluations are 50 minutes to 1 hour.  Follow-up psychiatric consultations are scheduled for 20 or 40 minutes.  Psychotherapy appointments are scheduled for 40, 60, or 90 minutes.

While most patients are seen in the office, we now offer some tele-medicine appointments with video conferencing and telephone consultation throughout the state of Texas.  The tele-therapy and tele-psychiatry sessions allow patients to be seen in the comfort and convenience of their own home or office.

How to Schedule

To schedule an appointment with a provider in the Portteus Psychiatry Group, call 214.550.3367, or provide your information by clicking the button below and provide your information so we can respond to your inquiry.  We will respond to your request by the next business day.  The Portteus Psychiatry Group is open Monday- Friday 9:00 - 5:00 by appointment, and we will respond to calls, online requests, or emails to address your request at that time.

24 hour Cancellation Policy:  To cancel or reschedule an appointment, it is necessary to notify the office one full business day (24 hours prior to the appointment) to avoid unnecessary charges.  To change a Monday appointment, it is necessary to contact the office the Friday before the appointment prior to the appointment time.  Missed appointments and late cancellations are billed at the regular appointment rate.

As a courtesy to our patients, we try to provide appointment reminder calls or emails when possible.  However, we are not able to guarantee this service.  Patients are responsible for keeping and recording scheduled appointments.

Please note: While the Portteus Psychiatry Group and its providers may use other social media communication tools, such as Twitter or LinkedIn, for updates or education materials, all appointments or patient requests should be sent through this website's email access, direct email, or by calling the office by telephone.

If this is a medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or visit your local emergency room for immediate care and attention.
